MEDITATION RE-BOOT CAMP - You know it's good for you, but you can't bring yourself to meditate.
The Gist: You might work better in a group and want a bare-bones non-metaphysical approach.
This course introduces you to techniques for quieting the mind, responding vs reacting and releasing judgment. Come to any and all of the four technique sessions and sittings given in the first two weeks. Then, after a two weeks of trying on your own, join me for a group sit daily EACH MORNING for two weeks to kick start your daily practice.
Quick Look:
This course targets:
those who seek more discipline to sit quietly or who do things better in groups. This is for anyone who wants to expand their meditation techniques with a non-metaphysical approach. Meditation can be a spiritual practice, however the goal here is to develop a daily practice of allowing the mind to decompress and consciously process to reduce stress, find more connectivity in relationships and heighten empathy.
As I put together Mindfulness and Life-Skills programs for kids, so many parents ask me if I am going to run more courses for adults.
If not now, when?

Who is "Pak Zach"?
I am an international teacher named Zachary Reznichek who after years as a music industry executive and with a family circle growing, got a teaching certificate from Concordia University, Montreal in 2004. Taking a job as a supervisor in peer-to-peer Supplemental Instruction at Concordia's Student Success Centre, I went back to grad school in 2005 to consider my own past as a learner through the lens of my children's future.
What emerged was my interest and commitment to helping people, and especially youth heading for adulthood, become their own teachers in a practical way.
In 2010, I completed my Masters in Educational at Concordia University in Montreal on authenticity and motivation in curriculum development and pedagogy training.
I have been a teacher trainer (Concordia University 2008-2012) and former high school English teacher at Green School (2014-2016) and Galileo (inner city public high school 2012-2014) in Montreal. I have been teaching life-skills through Role-Playing Games (tabletop RPGs) and wilderness conservation trips with the WCS. Check out this video!
Look me up on LinkedIn. I specialize in philosophy, film studies, literature, narrative cycles, Mindfulness and personal coaching.
I am a community stake holder and proud father of a 11th and 8th grader at Green School Bali; my partner Sophie works at GS as Community Relations Manager.
Any questions?
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know (contact me). I would be glad to sit down and talk to you.
- You struggle to sit down and meditate daily or even weekly even though you know it's good for you.
- You've read articles, seen TED talks, and witnessed your friends or even family members transformed,
- It scares you. Closing your eyes and going quiet opens the door for difficult things and you can't manage the emotional content that comes up.
- Meditation was presented in an overly metaphysical way. You are interested in the calming and focusing effects, but feels too "new agey".
- You tried meditation before to reduce stress or trauma, but alcohol, cigarettes, drugs or other distractions work better and keep things numb. However, that is getting costly too and you want to try again with more tools.
- It's just not you... but then you know that's not right either. So far it was never presented in a way that makes sense to you.
- You just feel hopeless to get started.
- You went to a workshop retreat, but back in normal life the techniques do not seem to be working the same.
- You tried it, but your thoughts rattle on and you can't focus.
- You can get in a good mind flow when working out or exercising, but can't sit in meditation.
- "Others around me seem to be able to do it, but I'm rubbish" (UK) "...I suck at it" (USA) "...I'm a no-hoper" (Aus).
- "It's too hard and I can't calm my mind."
- "I can't sit still, I keep wondering about the time."
- Other reasons people don't meditate.
